Tahereh Afghah

Tahereh Afghah is currently a doctoral student in Computer Music in the Music department at The University of California San Diego, USA. She pursues the aforementioned program under the supervision of Prof. Miller Puckette and under the Co-supervision of Prof. Peter Otto, Prof. Shahrokh Yadegari, and Prof. Tamara Smyth. She completed a dual Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering in conjunction with Electronics and Audio Engineering in 2012. After the aforementioned undergraduate degree, she ventured further to complete her master’s degree in Media Technology with specialization in Audio Engineering in 2015 at The Technical University of Ilmenau in Germany. Her postgraduate degree was completed under the supervision of Prof. Karlheinz Brandenburg and Prof. Thomas Sporer. Her research focuses on Spatial audio reproduction, Psychoacoustics, the design of Psychoacoustic based listening experiments, Auditory scene analysis, Audio signal processing, and Sound Perception. She has been a member of the Audio Engineering Society (AES) since 2016. Her latest paper was presented at the 142nd AES conference held in May 2017 in Berlin , Germany.
